Ok...here's the scenario...
I am nearing 40 and have been kidding myself, for some time actually, that i am becoming 'rounder' due to mother nature's influence on a man of my age.
However this Christmas has tipped me over the edge to a new level (read lower level) - which involves a whole new larger trouser size :(
Now over the years i have tried all sorts of get-fit/slim activities. Some have worked, most haven't...well see if you can spot a pattern:-
Worked:
Five-a-side Football (soccer for US friends) - got too old and too many injuries
Karate - broken fingers and broken nose eventually turned me off!
Not Worked:
Squash - tendonitis injury finished this off
Running - never liked it at school, too hard!
Tae-Bo - bored
and so on....
Now as you can see I am pretty handy with the excuses, so this blog is to 'encourage' me to keep up a new routine. Please feel free to add comments to keep me going (or otherwise!).
I have decided to take up running as it is cheap, easy to start and should help me achieve my goals. I am going to follow The Runner's Handbook my Bob Glover and the advice therein. Please feel free to follow me on my journey and howl loser! if I dont keep it up..
...tomorrow, Goals and the first four weeks...
